30 Apr 10

Today was a very eventful day. I started by going back to St Patrick's to pass Andrew his money owed to him by Ernst. We chatted for a while about Magic, then I went home. I was feeling very irritable, maybe because of the heat, but I doubt it. I'm not known to react to heat. Lol I make myself sound like an involatile chemical. Like I said, I felt easily irritated and got annoyed whenever someone talked to me. I eventually decided to take a nap and I was well rewarded: I felt more energetic. Maybe it has something to do with my sleep cycle. Ah well. I had lunch with my parents, and I discovered a stall which has amazing roasted pork rice. The roasted pork is crispy! And it's within walking distance of TP. So convienient. I went to TP at 1pm to do my ISOFun homework. ISOFun stands for Information Systems and Office Fundamentals. I had to do a Word Document about myself. I managed to finish most of it. After that I went for Ultimate Frisbee. I hve decided to quit it and focus my efforts on roller blading an learning slalom. I find the grass too itchy and I prefer to wear long pants than shorts. I can't wait to get my own skates. I learned how to skate backwards and then skate backwards in a circle. The backward crossover. I mastered the left side before the right. And I did it before Yuan Yuan could!!! Yay!!! Lol. I also taught myself how to move, spin and continue on backwards. Awesomeness. Oh, and also how to balance on the back wheel of my left skate and the front wheel of my right simultaneously. I can't wait for tomorrow.

28 Apr 10

Lol busy busy busy. Kay a few updates. A certain pair of friends of mine are finally together! To quote him they "just try out only." Lol best wishes to them! He's been chasing her for several weeks already, so congrats bro! Lol.

Okay I'm thinking very hard about getting myself a pair of skates. Their really expensive, the cheapest being around $200. But I'm planning to buy with the rest of the freshies in the skate team to lower the price. I'm gonna sit on this til next Tuesday before I make my final descision.

I'm gonna ask my class to go skating this sat for class bonding. I've asked Diana and Brenda too, since their both in the same diploma but in different classes (C265 and C263 respectively). I hope they can get most of their class to go. That would be fun. And those who can't skate can cycle.

27 Apr 10: Book Review

I am so sad. I've been reading these 2 books, Nobody's Princess and it's sequel, Nobody's Prize. I just finished the second book. It's about this princess, Helen, from Sparta who doesn't want to do so-called lady-like things like sewing. She disguises herself as a boy and learns swordsmanship with her 2 brothers, along with archery lessons from her mother. It's a very nice story about a woman fighting for her rights. During the story, she frees a slave boy, Milo, and both become very good friends. He becomes more or less the co-main character in this story, sharing her travels and secrets. The thing that made me sad was that, near the end ofthe story, he left as an apprentice to a merchant without saying goodbye to Helen. I was so heartbroken cuz I thought they'd marry each other. One year later he comes back as a merchant himself. I thought she was gonna slap him or something because he left her so abruptly. Now Milo is gonna marry Alkyone, a girl who pretended to be Helen while Helen went off to have her adventures. And Helen's left to rule Sparta by herself. Sobs.

These books I highly reccomend because it's about fighting for one's rights, standing up for what you believe in an chasing after your dreams, no matter what might get in the way. Helen is resourceful, cunning, and according to the story, has such beauty that she rivals Aphrodite herself.

27 Apr 10

My ass hurts. I fell on my right butt cheek. Lol. Roller Blading today. I put myself in the Advanced group because i could do the T stop. We were taught hoe to skate backwards. Then we played virus on skates. It involved everyone who came. That's how I got my sore butt. I was going too fast, then I went onto the grass and when I attemted to jump back on the pavement, my feet flew from under me and I landed on my right butt. Lol. But it was damn fun overall. I think I should get myself a pair of skates and gloves or wrist guards. Gloves look cooler though. Lol.

26 Apr 10

Yay 2nd week of school has started. I'm happy. The only homework I have is to think of questions for an interview. Lol. Tomorrow evening I'm going to roller blade CCA with my friends Johnathan, Yuan Yuan and Zhan Hui. Yayness. Not much updates today. Tomorrow will probably have more after roller blading.

25 Apr 10

Okay. I went to Chinatown for breakfast today with my family. Fried pig intestine and chee chiong fan. Yummy. After that we went to the buddhist temple. It's quite new, but then again I haven't been there in years. I respect the religion, yet I didn't appreciate the visit. I'm not gonna complain here- that is not the purpose of this blog. I'm just gonna say: it was a good experience, thank you I don't wanna go there again.

I finished cutting the fake money for our biz game this Tuesday. We (my team of 3) are distributors of watches and I "copyrighted" and "trademarked" the name "Watches R Us". Extremely original, it had to be protected for our use only. Lol.

I'm very happy today cuz I'm free. Only Lloyd would understand this. But ah well, I'm happy!!! Time to persue other targets... Lol.

24 Apr 10

This is bad. This is bad. This is very very bad. I'm slipping. I haven't put up a post for the last 2 days. Grr. I've been really lazy. I need to get back on track again. Ah well, yesterday I spent most of the day at Brendan's house playing Magic, same as today. So I guess that's okay since I didn't have anything to say anyway. Also, my dad's surgery was successful!!! Yay! He's home now and when I got back this evening, he was up and about, cutting fruits for juice. He'd been complaining of chest pains since last week, and 2 days ago the doctors found a problem with one of his arteries so he had surgery yesterday to fix it and now he's fine. Awesomeness FTW. Oh i borrowed storybooks from the bedok library today. I couldn't help myself. I needed my fantasy worlds back. I told myself to go in and just get 2 books, but I ended up getting 4 and my bag was super heavy. Yep, that's it I have nothing else to say.

21 Apr 10

Whoo I'm BACK!!! Nearly fully recovered from my flu. Tomorrow I should be as good as new. Back to cracking jokes and rebutting people like Keith again. Keith and I kept poking fun at each other during classes. Oh that reminds me. We had 2 lectures in a row today, in the same lecture theatre. The first one was conducted by Ms Lina. She was calm, cool, collected, overall very professional without being too formal. The next lecturer that came in, wow you can feel the difference in respect even before he (the lecturer) spoke a word. And the lack of respect grew as the class went on. Only one word to describe him: eccentric. At the very least, he was humourous. But funny in a slapstick way, meaning you would laugh at him as you would a clown. I can't really explain it, his lecture has to be experienced. I'm not saying he's bad, I'm saying he's unique and eccentric. Quite fun, truth be told.

I just had a long chat with that certain somebody. And I mean, looonnnnggg.

20 Apr 10

Good day today. I'm feeling much better than yesterday, although I'm still coughing and I still have spasms. My fever and aches seem to have cleared up. Okay now school stuff.

Had a lot of fun today. Programming is more fun than I thought. I'm able to understand everything the tutors and lecturers say. And when my classmate clarify something with me, I'm able to explain it to them. We're gonna play a business game next week.

Yesterday I slept a total of 14 hours from 5pm to this morning at 8am. I'm amazed I could sleep that long without feeling like I slept too much. I'm much better than yesterday. My flu has dwindled down to just a cough and painful eyeballs. Lol. I am drinking alot of water too, like I keep telling a certain somebody. I should be fully recovered by thursday. At least my appetite's back. Oh that reminds me. The Chicken Rice at the IT canteen sucks. I ordered white chicken thigh today. It was bland, and they didn't even remove the feathers properly. How disgusting is that??? Some people just don't take pride in what they do. I'm gonna go to a different canteen tomorrow.

19 Apr 10

9.08am
I'm at TP now. My class starts at 10am. I'm now wondering why I let daddy send me here so early. Zzz. Plus I've developed a slight cough. I took medicine this morning, and now I'm a bit sleepy. Zzz. Sigh...

10.46pm.
I've developed a full fledged flu. Huh. Say that 5 times fast. Lol. Anyway, I came back at 4.30 then took my medicine and went to sleep. I only just got up half an hour ago. I should be better in the morning. My body is strong. I recover fast. I really don't feel like missing classes tomorrow.

18 Apr 10

Okay I posted a new post for Planeswalkerz. I think the one week break from Magic did me good.

I have some exciting news but I can't announce it yet. Because certain people will be reading this blog. That's all I'm saying for now, except: Yay! Tomorrow school starts!!! Yay!!

Btw here's today's thought of the day:

Remember, you are unique... Just like everyone else.

17 Apr 10

Wow today was a fun day. It was Celine's 17th Birthday. I met her through Lloyd, and she's in TP as well. I initially thought I'd be emo-ing in one corner, because I'm usually really shy at these sort of parties when I don't know many people. But I told myself, I dunno anyone there except Lloyd and Celine, and they dunno me as well, so ah, what the hell, I'm gonna enjoy myself. And as it turns out, I did.  I had many opportunities to crack jokes, rebutt friendly insults etcetera. And I was so enthused that I became hyper, sort of like at Week 0 camp. Maybe it's leftover energy. I dunno. But I'm really proud of myself, because finally, I fit in. I'm in the centre group having fun instead of my usual postion of being on the outer circle, occasionly being drawn in by questions. Lloyd forgot to bring his EZ-Link card, and this proved to be the first thing the group bonded over. We (Lloyd and I) met Celine at Harbour Front to pick up her cake from Vivo City. Then we had to travel to Punngol which was right at the other end of the purple line. As Celine tapped to correct LRT station to drop off for Lloyd to buy his standard ticket, the price cane out: $4. Celine and I fell about in mirth and alot of people were staring at us. Lol. We kept teasing him about it. When we got on the train, he kept taking the cardboard advertisments hanging from the middle bar. I said he was getting his $4 worth and we all burst out laughing again. Seriously, I was cracking jokes here and there, making powerful rebuttals to my friends, and I was doing a lot of crazy stuff. Like dancing to Jai Ho with Daryl, dancing solo to Nobody Nobody and doing a group dance for Sorry Sorry. It was hilarious. Indeed, I had a great time. The very first time where I actually clicked with a group of friends. Usually everyone think my jokes are lame, but maybe that's what helped me today. I learned not to crack lame jokes, get everyone's attention before I tell a joke and not to try so hard to be funny. Today was all natural, I didn't hafta remember my jokes, they just came to me when I needed them. In this respect, I find it's much easier to do a SitCom than be a Stand-Up Comic.

16 Apr 10

Thought of the day: Historians and Archeologists make the best husbands. The older his wife gets, the more interested he is in her.

Sorry randomness. Today was tiring. We had Piad Piad games. My team ha to do choo choo train. Embarassing, but we cane in 2nd place, so not too bad. We also recieved our results for the Final Showdown Performance yesterday. We had a little joke about that. IIT has 6 courses. Each course made one performance. So this competition was an inter-course competiton. Lol. Anyway, guess who won? Of course FBI!!! Why? Because we're FBI!!! We're the best!!! Our skit/medly was cute. Only one other team posed a slight challenge, because they put up a gay comedy. I had to admit, they have balls. But ours had meaning. We didn't do a cheer that was taught to us by the OLs. We made our own cheer. Here's the lyrics:

Echo after me ah!
FBI ah FBI
Si be zai ah si be zai
Tell you why ah tell you why
Make you cry ah make you cry
Cuz you look like nice cheese pie.

(sing to the tune of If We Ever Meet Again)
Ahh... FBI's the best
You will never beat the best
Ohh... Challenge if you can
Come and try us if you dare
What 'bout you (YOU!)
you what school (SCHOOL!)
School has us
That's why IIT so Cool!

Then we did the FBI wave, which meant instead of standing up and throwing our hands in the air, we all thrusted our hips out at Nick, our runner a he ran past.

How could we not win? Lol.

15 Apr 10

Okay this blog will summarize the last 2 days at TP's Week 0 Orientation Camp for IIT School. We sleptover in  the TP sports hall last night. Well actually we slept at 2 am cuz we had a night walk. It was more of a crime scene thing. And there were many 'ghosts', year 2s and 3s with makeup scars on their faces and chains aroubd them etc etc. Scary. Today we more bonded. Our final showdown performance was great. When I see the other teams I'm like, competition? What competition? We had wet games too, which rocked especially with the hot weather, not like last week where it rained. I feel damn good now. Extremely hyper. I helped to lead the whole performance too. I was one of the directors/choreographers. It was cool. Much better than last week when I was quite zombie like.

Okay about my class. No chio bu eh!!!! 11 girls, 9 guys. 2 girls absent, left 9. One is fat, 3 look like Kenna langa by lorry and the other 5 from China. From CHINA!!! Their English is worse than my Chinese okay??? And that's saying something. So many weird Chinese names to remember. Got one girl Tian Lu. To me that translate to Sweet Road. Then one of them is Ying Wei. Translation means Because. In my eyes lah. Got one more called Mu Jie. I'm like, Wood Sister??? Apparently, that name is a style similar to Mongolian names so the OLs (Orientation Leaders) call her Mongolian. I'm still gonna run for class rep though, since I'm so enthu and hyper. Lol. Damn fun overall. Tomorrow we have Regatta (the meaning of life) and Piad Piad. Translated from lameness to English, it means Dragon Boat and Olympiad (Olympic games). Lol. I'm in the Piad Piad. Yay!!!

13 Apr 10

4.20pm.
You will notice I didn't put up a post yesterday. That was because I was overcome by a very strong lethargic feeling for the whole day. I think it kinda started at FOC, I didn't really feel as enthusiastic as usual. Yesterday I even watched WLIIA but I distance laugh at all. Nothing amused me, and even Brendan's SMSes about how wonderful RP is and how he's the group leader of 25 girls didn't impress me or make me feel jealous. And believe me, I was doing my best to feel envious of his large school grouds and excellent facilities. I guess my emotions just suddenly shut off, as did the thinking part of my brain. But now I'm BETTER!! Quite on the verge of perky. And I didn't even drink Sprite today. I finished a cup yesterday while watching WLIIA and I still fell asleep for 2 hours on the sofa and woke up stinking of sweat. Lol. I did manage to find 4 new coursemates. Diana, Jiaying, Roy and Jenn Jiang. They are all not in my class except Roy. He has some trouble loggin in and can't find out his class yet. Brenda is also in a separate class. Damn. I dunno about Jaynie, she's so uncontactable. Ah well. I found more coursemates just now. All not from my class though. Waiting for Roy to confirm, and for Sarah and Seechen to accept my friend requests.

4.50pm.
Found 3 other friends (Shirley, Denzel and Lutfi) all diff classes from me. Except Denzel I dunno which class he in.  Ah well I'll see everyone tmr.

11.18pm. Argh Denzel is in Class C264. Damn. Okay nevermind. I have something else to say now. Just now before dinner I took a nap because it was raining heavily and it felt good to sleep. (I regretted this layer as I woke up with a slight headache) Then i dreamt of something weird. I dreamt that I was at home in my room when the whole building collapsed. While I was falling I snagged my mattress and pulled of the cover, allowing me to make a makeshift parachute, while my now stripped mattress plummetted to the ground. I managed to steer myself towards the mattress and landed safely on top of it, curling into a forward roll to work offthe momentum. Hmm. Then I woke up. I really had a falling sensation too. It was scary. Ah well.

My brother just pissed me off. But I can't say what he did here. If not it will (quote) "come back to haunt me". Okay fine I wasn't totally in the right, but he started it.

Woah. I sound childish. But I'm pissed. I just raved to Troy about a certain someone too. Now my emotions are back, strong and in full, since their 5 day holiday. Lol.

11 Apr 10

So frustrated with myself today. Check planeswalkerz.blogspot.com. I've decided not to do weekly posts for that blog, but post whenever I want, then let it be known on this blog. I'm still sore from all the activities in TP. And I'm not feeling emotionally well.

10 Apr 10: FOC Day 3

12.22pm. Just finished lunch. And we are all DRENCHED. In water. We had wet games involving a LOT of water bombs. Damn fun. But now my feet feel weird. We did get a new shirt though, and since we changed into it, it doesn't feel so bad. I didn't change my pants though, because the GLs said we may get wet again. Lol.

9.36pm. Ah it feels good to be dry again. My feet itch alot though. I think the groups were too big, and that's why I didn't find it as enjoyable as TP Rawks. Or maybe that's just me. I'm gonna sleep at 10.30, cuz tomorrow I have an MTG tournament at Katong. Check planeswalkerz.blogspot.com tomorrow.

9 Apr 10: FOC Day 2

5.58pm. I am so damn tired. At least it was more fun today. Somehow, however, I don't feel as much enthusiasm as I did when I went for TPRawks last year. Hmm. We have performance night later. I wanted to join the guys for B-Boying, but my thighs are just too fat, meaning that I can't squat properly. Even my Shuffling has deproved. I'm looking forward to the end of this camp and the beginning of next week's camp, which is more relevant and hopefully, valuable, to me.

12.02am. We had Jam 'n' Hop and Mass Dance before dinner. Damn fun. We also had performance night. Like I said, I wanted to do B-Boying, but I just didn't make the cut. Ah well. The girls section was good though. They danced to Jai Ho. The one leading them is hot. She's got the body and the moves. I don't know her name, but I'm gonna find out.

8 Apr 10: FOC Day 1

Great day today. 1st day of camp. Priscilla, Troy and I had a small picnic. I brought my tarts but they melted while we were eating Priscilla's burgers. :( We should have eaten them first. Damn.

We had a lot of ice breaking. Too much, I feel. Too much cheering too. I hope tomorrow will be better.

7 Apr 10

I didn't put up a post yesterday. That's because I was lazy. Watching 27 9min+ videos of Whose Line Is It Anyway? on YouTube. Also I was doing part one of making what I call a "mix and freeze" strawberry cheesecake. That is, pounding digestive biscuits and mixing them with butter, then leaving it in the fridge to freeze. It's 6.24pm now and I just finished part 2: mixing the cheese with sugar, water and gelatine. Of course I had to boil the water and dissolve the sugar and gelatine first. I learned to add the gelatine slowly as it will congeal immediatly when it touches water. I had a hard time breaking up the gelatine lumps but eventually managed to do so. Then I left it in the fridge to freeze. I'm gonna do part 3 tonight, which is making the strawberry jelly topping, then leaving it overnight to freeze. See why I call it a "mix and freeze" cake?

Here are some jokes from Colin Mochrie to make up for not posting yesterday. They're slightly modified because I had to take them out of context, but the punchlines are more or less the same.

A cult of bees were found dead under their hive. They are though to have committed insecticide.

I bought a gun made out of jelly while overseas to take home to my kids. I was arrested at the airport for possesing a congealed weapon.

That's all I can remember for now, but I will put up more when I can recall.

10.32. I finished making the Strawberry Jelly Topping for my cake about an hour ago. I learnt I cannot use the big tray. The clingwrap wasn't big enough, even though I put 2. That's an epic fail cuz I just checked it, and found that the jelly liquid had seeped below and now the biscuit base and cheese layer is floating!!! Lol. My other 2 smaller trays are okay though. I just took one out and shook it a little and -success!!!- it's jellyfying!!! I would say congealed, but it doesn't sound very nice. Lol! We'll see what happens tomorrow morning.

Btw, I'm leaving tomorrow for a 3D2N stay at TP. So if there is no Internet there, I will have to post my entries on Saturday night when I return.

5 Apr 10

Okay. I got pissed off today. I wrote down the whole incident, but I'm not gonna post it. I'm gonna keep it to remind me of what he did to me. I will give him another chance, and i'm gonna confront him on Wednesday with the AHAWAUFL method.

4 Apr 10

Omg omg omg!!! I feel super!!! Check planeswalkerz.blogspot.com. I'm improving consistently. First tournament at Bukit Timah I was last place. 2nd tournament last Sunday I won 2 games and was 17th out of 27. This time I won 3 games and was 34th out of 60!!! Going by percentage of games won, I won 20%, then 40% and then 50% today!!! Another tournament this Wednesday and I'm going for it.

3 Apr 10

Again, look at Planeswalkerz.blogspot.com tomorrow as we had MTG Training today.

I have a new hobby. Listening to Muttons To Midnight on 987FM from 11-12. Damn funny. I did find a good song though. Kissing You by Miranda Cosgrove. She's my age and she's cute. Awesome song. I think i'll be lazy and post the lyrics tomorrow.

Lol something funny just happened. My grandmother wanted a toothpick but Since she said it in Chinese, I didn't understand what she said. So her maid asked her and she repeated it in Malay. My grandmother then showed me the toothpick and told me what it was called in Chinese (forgotten what it is now) then said it is called a "stupid" in English!!! ROFLMAO!!!

2 Apr 10

I spent most of the day at Brendan's place playing Magic. Check the Planeswalkerz blog on Sunday. I found $1 on the floor today, after finding a Chinese 1 Jiao, which is about 2 Singapore Cents. Not bad. Brendan did better. On Sunday he found a 10 cent coin and said: "Find 10cents, find $10." I didn't really believe him at first but on Tuesday he really found a $10 note!!! I was with him. I should have seen it and I kicked myself for not doing so. Damn. Looks like what he said was true. Lol. Mum told me to donate the $1 to charity, because it was a test of God, to see whether my heart is pure. Well I'm an Aethist (is that the correct spelling?) and I while I respect other people's religions, I believe in any god until scientifically proven. This might offend people so I say to them:

SO SUE ME.

I'm a true believer... In science. I have faith... In myself. I will also go to hell... If it exists.

1 Apr 10

Watched Clash of the Titans today with Troy, Priscilla and Hafiez. Very disappointing. I expected a show about the Greek gods and big creatures and demigods and heroes. And I expected the setting to be in ancient Greece. Like hundreds of years ago kinda thing. But the show wa just about Perseus saving a city. And the thing that really posse me of was the way the characters spoke. I expected old English, formatted in a way we could understand eg you instead of thy etc etc. But the humour was all modern humour. Really spoiled the atmosphere. I didn't like it. Percy Jackson was better because at least it wa set in the 21st century.

31 Mar 10

12.38pm.
I just finished my lunch. And I had a thought. I'm very manipulative. I LIKE being manipulative. If i could be described in a single word, I hope that will be it: manipulative. I'm not sure where the feeling stemmed from, but it was enhanced when I learnt how to manipulate numbers an letters in math, specifically algebra, indices, simultaneous equations and proving identities. I loves the feeling of shifting the numbers to my will. I then leart something called Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP for short. Its a tool in which you can get under your subconsciousness to do help you do stuff like, stay awake without caffeine, or achieve a particulaly difficult goal, or heal emotional wounds etc etc just to name a few. I'm no expert and I do not know the full extent of it's uses, but I do see alot of practical applications in my life.

Then, I also learnt that it can be used externally. As in, you can do stuff like persuation, anchoring and other freaky stuff that is very close to hypnotism. Of course it became very tantalising for me. I'm just gonna digress abit here. The card game I play (Magic, the Gathering) has a storyline and I really admire one of the characters, called a planewalker. I want to model him. His name is Jace Beleran and he's a Mind Mage. He messes with people's memories, creates illusions and manipulates stuff. This is the character I want to be. I also realised, if I have access to this potentially dangerous power, others might too. Therefore I changed my sights. I want to learn NLP to protect myself from being manipulated. First defense, the offense. I realise how powerful this tool can be, but it's also a double edged sword. If I'm not careful or not aware, I can be manipulated as easy as I manipulate others. However, I do get a thrill from this. It's sort of sadistic I suppose, using the tool to my own benefit, but this is a world I choose to enter. That's why I'm gonna take psychology as a CDS in polytechnic. I guess I like the feeling of getting what I want, when I want, who I want it from and wherever I want it. It's the feeling of control. I realise that I, like Jace Beleran, will have to make a choice. To choose good or bad, white or black (his ally colours), offense or defense.

They're right. Power DOES corrupt. Will I be strong enough?
